Living in Perth, Western Australia
The choice of where to live in Perth is varied and depends on what your requirements are such as cost, proximity to the city, river and beaches, schooling etc.
For those looking for an inner city lifestyle there is central Perth and the surrounding suburbs of East Perth, Subiaco, Northbridge and West Perth. South of the river there is Como, South Perth and Victoria Park.
All of these areas offer a wide range of housing from luxury townhouses to affordable apartments.
If you go from Kings Park to the coast and along the Swan River you have the western suburbs. In these areas you have very exclusive properties and many with city and Swan river views. These suburbs are Claremont, Cottesloe, Dalkeith and Nedlands etc.
The northern coastal and surroundings follow the coast and the Mitchell Freeway. The most expensive houses are being those closest to the beaches. These suburbs include Swanbourne, City Beach, Duncraig and Hillarys. All of these areas offer good quality and attractive properties with an associated price premium for the location.
Approximately 30km north of Perth you have the satellite city of Joondalup. In Joondalup you have everything you need such as express trains, large shopping centers, doctors and schools.
The Northern suburbs have proven to be a popular place for new migrants to settle in due to the new houses that are available and land for sale.
